Ronald Reagan as the model commander in chief. In practice, however, they ignore that the Gipper ordered US fighting units to foreign ground only once, and that to a country so small and insignificant he might as well have invaded the
Duchy of Grand Fenwick.
Reagan demonstrated that military force does not need to be our default setting in dealing with the rest of the world.
